Q. What does a maths tutorial involve?
A tutorial is your time to ask as many questions as you like relating to your school homework, any topics you may require extra help with and to help you prepare for any upcoming exams. Additionally, during your lesson you will be given well structured lesson notes and carefully prepared exercises on the topic you are currently doing at school. These are to be handed in upon completion and will be marked and returned the following week for discussion. Students also have access to an enormous library of practise topic tests and practise exams to help them prepare for half yearly and final exams.

Q. What makes CEM different to other maths tuition centres?
CEM offers you the following:
- All our tutors are highly experienced;
- We limit classes to a maximum of 5/6 students;
- We provide individual lessons tailored to each student's needs;
- We offer an extensive library of past exam papers and review booklets onsite and online;
- Our results are outstanding!
Q. Who are the teachers at CEM?
The head teachers of CEM are Peter Ooi and Gary Findlay. To view their teaching experience and qualifications,
click here.
Q. How large are the classes?
Every class is limited to a minimum of two students and maximum of five or six. This allows for enough individual attention.
Q. How many times a week do I need to attend?
Regular attendance is imperative for maximum benefit. Ideally we recommend one session per week. However, it is up to you and you can attend as often as you like.
Q. What do I need to bring with me?
Due to COVID, we ask that your child bring their own calculator, pencils, writing paper etc with them to class. A copy of their most recent school exam would be a great help for us to assess their strengths and weaknesses.
Q. What happens if I can't attend my regular lesson?
If you can't attend your regular lesson, we kindly ask that you let us know with a minimum of 4 hours before your class. You can contact Leanne on 0403 905 728 for CEM Rosebery and Gary on 0411 369 412 for CEM Online.
Missed lessons with notice can be booked in for another week during the same term but cannot be rolled over to the following term.
Failure to provide us with timely notification for a missed lesson means that that lesson has been forfeited and cannot be rescheduled or refunded unfortunately.
Q. How can my parents find out about my progress in class?
Parents are welcome to ring or email us and discuss the progress of their child at any time. However, if we come across any issues during the term we will contact you immediately, otherwise our tutors write a report at the end of every term on the student's overall progress.
Q. What if I need help when I start University?
If you are starting University and would like some help, CEM Online now offer tutoring for 1st Year University Mathematics. Please provide your tutorial exercises to Gary so he can help you bridge the gap between your Secondary and Tertiary Studies.
